I've been playing Bioshock and IMO it's the best FPS I've ever played, it has great story, atmosphere and the single player expereience is fantastic, but I'm left wanting more and was wondering if there are any other similar FPS out there, with a good story and atmosphere.

The only game that comes to mind is F.E.A.R, but was wondering if there are others on Xbox 360/Xbox compatible?

Since I saw Condemned cheap at Dick Smith Ive been contemplating a purchase. Havent played it though. You could try Call of Duty 4 but Im assuming by atmospheric you mean fantasy horror?

Youre not going to find anything modern out there like BioShock. Although the game it is based on, System Shock 2 is every bit as much as good as BioShock. Provided you can get past the old graphics System Shock has a much better story, mood and is much more tense. BioShock was much more fun though, System Shock has some really rediculous concepts, like weapons that degrade and need repair after only a few shots.

You can pick it up as a budget title on PC. Black Diamond series I think, that series is often in lots of Reject Shops, havent seen it in any game stores for a long time.

I didnt like it. Its FAR too dark and baddies are constantly spawning behind you (a good 50% of the time). One of the mods is alright for the darkness problem but as for spawning, well, it depends if you can tolerate it or not.

You thinking of giving System Shock a go?

Yeah, if you liked Bioshock, you should like System Shock.
BioShock might as well be a sequel/remake almost to System Shock Tongue

Call of Duty 4 was one of the best FPS games I've played in a long time.

Yeah, after seeing some gameplay footage I don't like the look of doom, looks like most other bland FPS.

I don't like PC gaming, so System Shock is out.

I've come to the realisation that no other FPS can match the qaulity of Bioshock, so will just have to wait for the sequals.

and yes Call of Duty 4 is excellent, though not as good as Bioshock

I suggest downloading the PC demos of every game you are interested in and then deciding which ones you will actually want to own on console. Mind you that all of those titles are best played on PC and you should really give that a go if you have the right machine for it.

I have already stated I don't like PC gaming Anthony and It's your opininion that they are best played on PC, I don't agree with that and find console gaming more fun, as that's what the consoles are made for.

I think Anthony only said that because game demos are typically a lot easier to come by in PC format rather than console, and that way you could get an idea as to what you'll like.

But methinks this could be the stuff of a good thread, PC vs Consoles for PFS games Shocked

PFS eh?

For me personally it depends on the game. Although if zeldamario wants to consider SS2, HL2 or Deus Ex 2 (the ones he is most likely to like) he will need to get PC demos. The Orange Box demo for 360 showed nearly no gameplay.
